Yap died. Went suddenly downhill one morning, just after it had learned a new tweet and learned he could jump higher by flapping his wings.

Incredibly, Yap is still alive after three nights.

I'm going to get some batteries for this camera and start taking a photo every day. Last night, while we were sleeping, he preened almost all of the coarse tubing off, letting free his feathers. Suddenly there is more to him than exposed red flesh.

Well, to tell the truth, this is probably the best case right now. It's survived another night, and I'm going to get it to Bird Rescue today.

I do wonder what it is. Maybe a tui!
