Shaun began drawing and painting images for science fiction and horror stories in small-press magazines as a teenager, and has since become best known for illustrated books that deal with social, political and historical subjects through surreal, dream-like imagery.

More to the point, Shaun Tan is completely b’dass. You should buy and read all of his books. Seriously, he’s great. They’re picture books, but probably not really suitable for children. At least, children with imagination. Or perhaps children without imagination. But you’ll be reading them anyway, not your kids.
